A dybbuk is a malevolent spirit from Jewish folklore that possesses living individuals. It is the soul of a deceased person unable to move on, attaching itself to a host. Dybbuks cause abnormal behavior, speak in different voices, and possess knowledge beyond their host's capabilities. Jewish exorcism rituals, led by rabbis, are used to remove them. While not recognized by science, dybbuks hold cultural significance and are depicted in literature, theater, and film, exploring themes of possession and the supernatural. What does "Dybbuk" look like? Who knows? But using my idea buddy, DALL-E, I started generating images to create this flashcard (it is in fact a collage). I loved the collab so much, I made a painting.
